Come welcome Shabbat with Rabbi Phil and his guitar, singing a mix of new melodies and old favorites! This service is a bit more “expansive.”
We are a center for Jewish life that embraces a diversity of religious and cultural traditions.
We cherish each individual, cultivating friendship and reaching out to support one another in difficult times through acts of hesed (loving-kindness).
We gather to learn, pray, and celebrate the cycles of Jewish time, infusing our lives with joy and meaning, and revealing kedushah (holiness) within and around us.

Learner's Shabbat will be an opportunity to learn about how to pray as a Jew in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. This will be neither a formal service nor a classroom. Rather, Rabbi Phil will guide learners through the Shabbat liturgy, paying special attention to the structure and narrative arc of the service, with plenty of room for interactivity, question asking, and pauses for explanation.
Our traditional-style Shabbat service uses the Sim Shalom (Conservative movement) siddur with liturgy mostly in Hebrew, and includes a full triennial Torah reading, Haftarah, and Musaf. A potluck kiddush luncheon follows the service. 9:30 am - 12:00 noon
